In essentials: We stand united with our Christian family, from centuries past to present, who affirmed The Apostle’s Creed, one of the earliest and widely held confessional statements of the church, and so …
“I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended to the dead. On the third day, He rose again; He ascended into heaven, He is seated at the right hand of the Father, and He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.”
They went to an Associated Gospel Church together after being married. Then Rick went to an Evangelical Free Church Seminary, and then they planted a Baptist Church! There are lots of “non-essentials” when it comes to the different denominations. But this is where we have liberty. We are a Christian church! We are followers of Jesus! But we are very non-denominational in our approach.
In all things: The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 13, “that we can speak in tongues, but if we don’t show love, we are just like a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.” But it tells us what true love is, what it does (8 things) and what it does not do (8 things also). And that at the end of the day, it’s all about The Three Sisters, all about Faith, Love, and Hope and that, yes, Love is the greatest!
