So, what kind of people attend or would attend inSPIRE Church?
Well, first of all, everyone needs a “family.” And families from one to another all look very different. The same goes for “church families.” There are a few different kinds of church families in Canmore. They all look a bit different and believe and practice in different ways. That’s good. Families are different. But we believe at inSPIRE Church, a new kind of church family was needed in Canmore!
First, we tend to be more “non-denominational” than having a specific denominational brand. I think lots of folks are looking for that kind of church. But to be more exact, this is how you might describe yourself on your journey in life. And maybe this is why you need this kind of “church family.”
We invite people to step outside their comfort zones, explore new perspectives, and find deeper meaning in their lives as they consider how different facets of their lives weave together.
At inSPIRE Church, we love to explore and encourage our people to do so, not only as we love exploring the great outdoors that God has created but also as we explore what is true Christianity in all its fullness. So, we love the “Explorer,” even if that person does not believe in Jesus or has been disappointed with God or the people who are supposed to represent Him well. So come—explore with us a Faith that truly inspires!
This “Outlaw archetype” reflects our focus on transformation and empowerment, helping members of our church create new paths aligning with their true values and desires.
At inSPIRE Church, we understand Jesus to be a bit of an “outlaw”! He was! He hung around with people that the religious leaders of the time simply wanted to condemn – but Jesus loved people. He cared for them. He healed them. He drank wine with them. But He did call them to live a transformed life!
They may attend church regularly, pray, and engage in spiritual activities. Still, they experience a disconnect between their spiritual practices and other aspects of their life, such as work, relationships, and personal well-being. Despite the best efforts to grow spiritually, they feel incomplete and seek ways to integrate their faith into every aspect of their life, achieving a sense of wholeness and fulfillment.
At inSPIRE Church, we emphasize the pursuit of wholeness amid brokenness. We guide our people through integrating their spiritual life with all other aspects of their lives, helping the Fragmented Believer achieve a sense of strength, harmony, and coherence they’ve been missing.
They may feel that their spiritual experience is lacking and are actively searching for deeper meaning. A need for purpose, understanding, and a connection with God drives them. Our people seek out environments and experiences that promise transformation and deeper insight. They are open-minded and curious, often exploring different Christian spiritual practices or philosophies. They may be critical of traditional religious structures but are still deeply committed to their faith journey.
At inSPIRE Church, we love seekers and provide opportunities for people to connect with others who share their passion for deeper exploration of faith, even if this is their first time seeking God and His place in their lives.
Our people believe there’s always more to discover about their faith and how to live it out. They seek to deepen their understanding of religious teachings, scripture, and the practical application of faith in everyday life.
Because majestic mountains and nature surround us, it is natural to reflect on our lives and perhaps even how God fits into them daily, though we may have never thought of that. Maybe we thought God was just a weekly Sunday thing or when we needed Him. But to the contrary, at inSPIRE Church, our people have found joy in a daily, vibrant relationship with Jesus.
Our people believe spiritual growth is deeply connected to relationships with others with similar beliefs. They are motivated by the need to build and be part of a supportive community that encourages spiritual growth and accountability. They like organizing or participating in small groups, community outreach, and group worship. They value shared experiences and collective learning.
At inSPIRE Church, we love building not only our inSPIRE Community but also being people of practical faith in our Canmore Community. We genuinely desire to be a positive transformational community, starting with our own lives, our personal family, our church family, and our beloved Canmore.
