It was there that Rick and Donna met. After 13 years of military service they embarked on God’s new path for them in 1994, i.e., for Rick to attend Seminary in Langley, British-Columbia.
They have been married for more than 35 years. They passionately love God, each other, people, and adventure. They also dearly love and are very proud of their two adult children—Zach, the Associate Director of Flight Operation at the Liberty University Aviation School in Lynchburg, Virginia, and Ally, a Registered Nurse here in Calgary, Alberta.
Rick and Donna started a life-changing community church plant in Ottawa, Ontario, in 1999. The church “Emphasized a Relationship, and not a Religion”! The church’s positive impact on life transformation went beyond Ottawa, all across Canada, the USA, and even into the Dominican Republic, where over 200 kids were sponsored monthly through a Compassion International Project.
Rick and Donna prioritize having a daily, vibrant relationship with the God who inspires Faith, Love and Hope! This is key to living the abundant life that Jesus talks about in John 10:10. Rick and Donna are passionate about a vibrant faith that makes a difference in every part of their lives while positively impacting those around them.
Donna was hired as the Executive Director of RSVP Ministries. At this moment in their lives, they both fell in love with the pioneering spirit of the “Wild Wild West” of Alberta. They especially fell in love with Canmore—with its beauty and grandeur! And so, they moved there in 2013.
Long story short: with sadness, they moved away from Canmore and returned to Ottawa in 2019 for strategic reasons for Donna’s ministry. But then, almost immediately, they faced the surprising reality of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic in 2020, which radically changed things for many people! So, in 2022, they moved to Texas so that Donna could attend Seminary.
In 2024, Rick and Donna returned to Alberta to launch the different components of the inSPIRE journey while making Canmore their home base. Rick and Donna are co-founders and pastors of the inSPIRE Church. Rick will lead the main ministry initiatives, while Donna will serve as the Teaching Pastor, with her primary role of pioneering and leading inSPIRE Ministries.
