In 2002, Donna went on a week-long retreat to ask God how to really help people experiencing brokenness, pain, relational conflicts, and emotional turmoil. She felt like God was saying that if people would examine ALL of their lives and would love God with ALL of who they are, then life would NOT be perfect, but many problems and heartaches would be prevented. Life lived out with greater intentionality in all areas would bring peace and wholeness in life, no matter the circumstances.
God “breathed” the word “inSPIRE” into Donna’s heart and mind!
The word inspire comes from the Latin word “inspirare,” and its definition means … “to influence, move or guide by divine, supernatural influence or action.”
The vision of inSPIRE was born to facilitate life « journeys » for people to intentionally (the “in” of inSPIRE) explore what it takes to find Spiritual, Physical, Intellectual, Relational and Emotional wholeness! You can experience the inSPIRE journey through the local footprint in Canmore with inSPIRE Church or through a retreat and resources available at inSPIRE Ministries.
And like the “spire” of a mountain – “two lines moving vertically upwards to a point” – our lives are meant to reach towards heaven and find God! Like a mountain, our lives are meant to be beautiful and inspirational! But it’s also the range of mountains that takes our breath away! It’s the range of SPIREs that reflect the glory and majesty of God. And so, our lives spent in community at inSPIRE Church, for example, are meant to be a picture of Faith, Love, and Hope to inSPIRE people who are searching! A community of faith can inspire those who live in it and those who area searching.
